2 Alberobello and wine tasting
First cycle day in the Valle d’Itria through the typical Apulian landscape of centenary olive-groves. Visit of Alberobello, UNESCO world heritage: a stroll through its cobbled streets among the clusters of trulli, whitewashed circular buildings with their conical roofs, is an unforgettable experience. On the way back stop at a winery to taste the local wines accompanied by regional products.

3 Along the sea to Polignano
Panoramic excursion along the beautiful coast and its inviting sandy beaches. First stop in Monopoli: its narrow streets and the Baroque Church of Santa Maria make this place a real pearl of Apulia. After a relaxing break in the lively atmosphere of the main square, the tour continues to Polignano a Mare, set on a deep gorge overlooking the crystal-clear sea. Back the hotel by coach.

4 Ostuni and olive oil
The third tour delights the eyes with a riot of colour: the red soil of Val d’Itria, the green of the olive groves and vineyards, whitewashed trullo houses and the clear blue sky. Stop at one of the several oil mills for a tasting of this local delicacy. Today’s goal is Ostuni, the “White City” par excellence, a splendid medieval village atop a hill facing the sea. Back to the hotel by bike.

5 Matera
Transfer by coach to the small town of Altamura, famous for its locally produced bread and beautiful old centre. The cycling tour begins on the Murgia plateau, through a bucolic terrain of rolling fields of “grano duro” (the wheat used for pasta). Stop in Matera and guided tour in one of the most extraordinary spots on Earth with its unique UNESCO listed “sassi” caves.
