Elba is the largest and can be quickly reached by ferry from the mainland. Its most famous resident was Napoleon, who was exiled here in 1814. The villas where he stayed can still be visited today.

The UNESCO-listed hamlets of Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore – are collectively known as the Cinque Terre. The five fishing villages dot the coastline, tucked into the habitable terrain between swaths of lush vertical land and cobalt coves. Each village is unique, and with a combination of trains and boats (depending on weather and sea conditions), visitors can see several in just one day – creating memories that will last a lifetime.
